Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Students who are transferring to TCNJ must complete either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Renewal FAFSA. List The College of New Jersey Title IV School Code 002642. Upon receipt of the FAFSA the Office of Student Financial Assistance will review your information and begin the awarding process.
Loan Award Amounts
Under federal regulations the loan award amounts are determined by the number of earned units. The following unit schedule determines the loan amount a student is eligible for at the time of disbursement.

| Sophomore Loan | 8-15.99 | $6,500 per Academic Year ($4,500 Sub loan max) |
| Junior Loan | 16-23.99 | $7,500 per Academic Year ($5,500 Sub loan max) |
| Senior Loan | 24+ | $7,500 per Academic Year ($5,500 Sub loan max) |
If a student’s unit status changes during the semester, the student should contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance to increase the loan amount if desired.
Outside Scholarships
Students should submit outside scholarship information electronically by accessing the Private Scholarship Information Form. Completing this online form should facilitate the processing and posting of the scholarship information in a timely manner to the student’s account.
